The Casino:
Vegas Towers Online Casino

Vegas Towers is part of the Fortune Lounge Group of Internet casinos, which includes 7Sultans Casino, Vegas Palms Casino, Fortune Room Casino, Vegas Towers and Vegas Villa Casino. All of these casinos are known for quality customer service, fairness and high standards of integrity. The player benefits from this association through a Loyalty Club that applies to play in all five casinos, which means the cash rebates (0.1%, plus frequent-player bonuses) accrue more rapidly than if you were spreading your business among five unrelated casinos. Longtime participants of Internet gambling recognize the value of patronizing casinos that are under one umbrella of ownership because their experience enables them to anticipate their customers' needs and thus reduce a lot of the petty problems associated with Cyber-gaming.

The Software

Vegas Towers is powered by Microgaming Systems software, which is one of the best systems available. Reliable, easy to use and universally accepted as fair and honest, it works great because you download it onto your hard drive. The interface for game selection is particularly well designed, so it's easy to move around the casino. If you'd rather not do any downloading at all, the casino offers all of its most popular games in Shockwave "Flash" format and a CD-ROM is also available.

Financial Transactions

This is of a particular concern these days, due to all the changes with credit card companies, PayPal no longer supporting casino transactions and so forth. But don't despair, because Vegas Towers has put a lot of thought and work into making it easy for you. First of all, I recommend that you open an account with Neteller (www.neteller.com/), if you're used to PayPal. It operates almost exactly the same and is certainly the best way to go for most players. But you can also use Prepaid ATM, Firepay, ACH and, in some cases Visa and Mastercard, especially if you live outside the U.S. Vegas Towers supports all of those.

The Games

A total of 73 different games are available and you'll find a complete description of most of them here. Let's start with the slots.

Slots
There are currently 42 slot machines at Vegas Towers and I've grouped them by type.

Non-Progressive Slots These have a fixed jackpot and all are available in $.25, $.50, $1, $2 and $5 denominations.

The most "traditional" are those with three reels and one payline that take up to three coins per spin, such as Fantastic 7s, Reels Royce and Crazy Crocodile, among others.

What follows is not a complete list, but will give you a good idea of the variety of slot machines available at Royal Vegas Casino:

Belissimo - Here we have a 5-coin machine with 3 reels and 5 paylines. The Chef symbols are "wild", which means they can complete a line with other symbols.

Double Magic - This is a 3-reel game with one payline and it takes up to 2 coins per spin. The blue star symbols are "wild" and they also act as multipliers for various payouts.

Genie's Gems - Five is the number here: 5 reels, 5 coins and 5 paylines.

Jackpot Express - This is a 3-reel, 5-line machine that plays up to 5 coins per spin. The ore cars are "wild", which means they can complete a line with other symbols.

Jurassic Jackpot - This is a 2-coin machine with 3 reels and 1 payline. The Jurassic symbols are not only "wild", which means they can complete a line with other symbols, but they also multiply the payout by a factor of 2 or 4.

Winning Wizards - Here we have a 5-reel slot that takes up to 5 coins per spin and it has 5 paylines.

Zany Zebra - Playing up to 5 coins, this is a 3-reel machine with 5 paylines. The zebras are "wild", which means they can complete a line with other symbols.

Goblin's Gold - The goblins come in threes: 3 reels, 3 coins and 3 paylines. Plus they are "wild", which means they can complete a line with other symbols. And if that isn't enough, they act as multipliers.

Totem Treasure - The "squaw" symbol is wild on the 5-reel, 5-coin, 5-payline machine.

Bonus Feature Slots
This is the fastest-growing sector of the slot industry, both "real" and virtual. Each game varies, of course, but if the player collects a certain number of items, or if a special symbol comes up on the payline, the player is taken to another screen on the game and has a chance to win extra credits. Vegas Towers has a good selection of these. The nice thing about playing this type of slot on the Internet is that the games (at least the ones here, anyway) save the accumulated symbols for your return. Try that at a brick-and-mortar casino! Walk away from a game that needs only one or two more symbols for the bonus and the "slot vultures" will attack in a feeding frenzy. Royal Vegas Casino has five bonus screen slots. All are 3-reel, 2 or 3-coin, single payline games. Here's a quick look at them:

Chief's Fortune - To get to the bonus screen, you must collect 5 arrows. The arrows are only on the third reel.

Lucky Charmer - The bonus screen comes up fairly often in this game, because the player has to get only one symbol to qualify.

Diamond Deal - The object here is to "fill-in" a diamond that has 4 parts and then you get to play the bonus round.

High Noon - If you get a special symbol on the third reel, you go to a screen where you pick an opponent in an old-fashioned shoot out. The prize is double or nothing.

Sizzling Scorpions - This is a 3-reel, 3-coin machine with one payline that takes you to a bonus round if a special symbol appears on the third reel payline.

Progressive Slots - If Microgaming Systems didn't pioneer the "linked" progressive slot on the Internet; they at least raised it to an art form. Their Cash Splash has produced a lot of big winners over the years and Vegas Towers has it, along with many more, plus the new and exciting Major Millions. Here's a rundown of what's available:

Cash Splash - This is a $1 denomination, 3-reel, 3-coin slot with 1 payline and the Cash Splash symbols are "wild", which means they can complete a line with other symbols. Plus, they act as multipliers on lesser payouts.

Lotsaloot - Available in a $.50 denomination, this is a 3-reel, 5-coin slot with 5 paylines. The special symbols are "wild", which means they can complete a line with other symbols. Plus, they act as multipliers on lesser payouts.

Fruit Fiesta - Here we have a $.25 denomination game that has 3 reels, plays 3 coins and has 3 paylines. Special symbols are "wild", which means they can complete a line with other symbols. Plus, they act as multipliers.

Wowpot - This is a $.50 denomination game that plays 3 coins, has 3 reels and 1 payline. Much like the others, the special symbol is "wild" and it acts as a multiplier on lesser payouts. As this is being written, the jackpot is over $20,000.

Treasure Nile - This is a 5-reel, 9-coin, 9-payline $.50 denomination machine in an Egyptian theme.

Major Millions - This is a $1 machine with 3 reels and 3 paylines that requires a $3 bet to qualify for the jackpot. The progressive starts at $250,000 and has been hit as high as $1,594,392! Definitely worth a visit.

Video Poker

Vegas Towers has a wide variety of games, several of which have progressive jackpots and one game that is an interesting version of Let It Ride (tm). Most are available in $.25, $.50 and $1 denominations and many are available in the Power Poker format, which is what they call their "four-play" multi-line games.

Here's a brief description of each game:

Jackpot Deuces Wild - This is a $1 game that requires a 5-coin bet to be eligible for the progressive "jackpot", which is paid on a Royal Flush with no wild cards in the suit of diamonds. One lucky player recently hit it for over $72,000! At that level, the game returned 101.79% for expert play. At the reset level of $5000, it returns 94.34%, which isn't all that interesting. However, you'll want to keep an eye on it as the jackpot grows because it's hit, on average, at the $40,000+ level.

Jacks or Better - This is a full-pay version that returns 99.5% for perfect play.

Aces & Faces - Basically a modified version of Bonus Poker, the long-term return is 99.3%.

Deuces & Joker Wild - Five wild cards keep the hits coming and the return is 99.0%.

Tens or Better - This is a nice change of pace from the Jacks or Better-type games and the long-term return is 99.1%.

Deuces Wild - The return here is only 96.8%.

Joker Poker - This is a Kings or Better game with a 5000-coin Royal. The return is 98.6% for expert play.

Double Joker Poker - Found all over Atlantic City, this is an 8/5 version that yields 98.1% when the proper playing strategy is used.

Louisiana Double Up - This is an interesting game that is based upon a 9/6 Jacks game, but the payout for three-of-a-kind has been cut to 10 for 5 from the usual 15 for 5. In return for that, a 53rd card has been added to the deck, but it's not a wild card. If it's a part of a "made" hand (Jacks or better), the payout on that hand is automatically doubled. Obviously, it's of no value in hands like Straights, Flushes, etc., but a 4K in this game pays 175, so it would pay 350 if the "double" card is in there. I really enjoyed playing this, but try it out in the fun-play mode first.

Supajax - This is another game with a special, 53rd card added and it also has a progressive jackpot. But, unlike most Video Poker games, the jackpot is paid when the player gets 4 Jacks and the Supajax card. It's available only in $1 format, but the average jackpot hit is in the $20,000+ neighborhood.

Poker Pursuit - It looks like a Video Poker machine, but it's really a rather ingenious version of Let It Ride Poker(tm). Available in $.50, $1, $2 and $5 denominations, you get 3 cards dealt for your first bet and then you may just call or choose to raise, depending upon what you have in your hand. A fourth card is then dealt and you again make the same decision, call or raise. A "call", by the way does not place any more bets at risk, so it's like taking your bet back, if you've ever played LIR. Your final payout is based upon what your 5-card hand is, with a pair of 10s or better being the minimum to receive anything. Well worth checking out.

Blackjack
Two different games are available, but they both use the same basic rules: The dealer stands on A-6, double only on 9, 10, 11, no double after split and both bets are lost when doubling or splitting against a dealer's 10 or Ace, should the dealer get a "blackjack". Pairs may be split only once to form two hands and split Aces may be re-hit. The first game (available at two different tables) is dealt from a single deck and the casino's edge is 0.10%. The second game, which is called Multi-Hand Blackjack, allows the player to bet up to 5 spots at a time, but it's dealt from 5 decks. The casino's edge is 0.54%. Betting limits are $2 to $200 and the cards are shuffled after every round in both games.

Triple Sevens Blackjack
This is a very exciting and improved version of the "Super 7s" bet that is available in many brick-and-mortar casinos. The Blackjack game is the 5-deck version (house edge of 0.54%) and a $1 side-bet is required to participate. The "improved" comes from the progressive for getting three 7s of diamonds and that starts at $10,000. You are paid whenever your first card is a 7 and the payoff climbs as you get more 7s in your hand. For a complete analysis of this game, see the article "The Triple 7s Side Bet", which is in the archives of the Blackjack Page here. The jackpot has been as high as $121,000!

Craps
This game follows the standard rules and only single odds are permitted. Betting limits are $1 to $100.

Baccarat
Because a single deck of cards is used in this game, the casino's edge is reduced a bit to where the Banker bet is just over 1%. Betting limits are $10 - $500.

Roulette
A single-zero game is offered, but the 'en prison' or 'la partage' rule is not available, so the casino's edge is 2.70%. Limits vary according to the type of bet. For example, they are usually $1-$10 on a single number "straight up" and $1-$80 on an "outside" bet.

Roulette Royale - If you believe in "streaks", this is the game for you. First of all, it's a single-zero game where the casino's edge is 2.70% on all bets, but there's a $1 side-bet that's made which pays you for numbers that repeat. If you're betting on 5, say, and it hits, then repeats on the next spin (assuming you bet it again), you'll be paid $15 for that. Should 5 come up a third time, you're paid $200 and now it's getting interesting. A fourth 5 in a row pays $3000 and a fifth 5 will pay the jackpot, which has been as high as $175,000. Betting limits are similar to the regular Roulette game.

Cyberstud Poker
This is a version of Caribbean Stud with a slightly different payout schedule. They've lowered the pay on two-pair from 2 to1 down to 2 for 1 ("even money"), but have increased the pay schedule for some of the bigger hands, like a Full House, so the net effect is to reduce the casino's edge slightly. There is no $1 side bet for a progressive jackpot. The dealer qualifies with A-K or higher. Betting limits are $1 to $50.

Cyberstud Progressive - Most players are more familiar with this version of the game, because this is the one with the $1 side-bet that pays a progressive jackpot if you're dealt a Royal Flush. The bet is mandatory in this game, but if you'd rather not make it, you can always play the game described above. A bonus is paid for all hands you get that are ranked at a Flush or higher. Betting limits are $1 to $50.

Keno
This is some pretty good Keno because all of the payouts, except for the 1-spot, are in the 92-96% range. My favorite play, the 9-spot, has a return of just under 93%. Betting limits are $1, $5 or $10.

The Bonus
Vegas Towers offers a 100% bonus of up to $100 for an initial purchase of at least $20. If that isn't enough, they also offer a 10% bonus for Neteller deposits. Some restrictions apply and there is a minimum betting requirement to qualify for the bonus and a minimum playing requirement before it can be withdrawn. See the Royal Vegas Casino Website for complete details.

Disclaimer
This is obviously an advertisement for Vegas Towers but we have tried to also make it an objective review by calculating the odds and percentage payouts as accurately as possible.
