GameMaster Rating: 70 points (of 100)

General Comments: In my first review, I gave this casino a rating of 90 points which was based upon their excellent Video Poker. Originally, GameDay offered full-pay Deuces Wild (100.7% return) and 9/6 Jacks or Better (99.5% return). Well, that's changed with the introduction of their "Millennium" games, as you'll see in the Video Poker section. I became aware of the changes through readers' comments at our On-Line Casino Message Board, so you should make that a regular stop when you visit us. They have also changed their Blackjack rules to where the dealer hits A-6, thus adding to their edge on that game. I must point out that I did not play these games for 'real' $$$, so I can only assume that the games for 'real' and 'play' are the same. I liked GameDay Casino and I'm sorry they felt it necessary to do this.

Recommendations: Though the casino states that they accept credit cards, just which ones are not specified in the general information area. And, while there is a very detailed FAQ section for the sports betting, there is little, if any information on the casino games. For example, there's nothing I could find which states how many decks are used in the Blackjack game (it's most certainly multi-deck). Another 'point of order' is that the 2s on the Deuces Wild game are not marked "Wild" and it's easy to forget that they are. A really weird effect is how your play money total is kept. When I signed on the second time I played, the casino showed me with a balance of about $99,000 when it had been $9900 at the end of the first session. Then, as I played, the totals would jump up and down in a meaningless way, totally unrelated to my bets. I hope this is a lot better when playing for 'real' $$$.

Platform(s) supported: This is java-based, so no download is required. It was tested on I.E. 5.0.
Credit Cards Accepted: Not stated, but it's probably Visa and Master card. Checks in the mail, Western Union and bank wires can be arranged. The fees for some payouts seem to be high.
Minimum Buy-in: $50
License: Curacao, Netherlands Antilles
Slot Club: none
Bonuses: 10% of initial deposit if by credit card; 20% if by wire or check. Other bonuses, such as one for referrals, are available. Certain conditions apply.

Games Analysis (All this information was correct on the date listed above.)

Blackjack: Nothing in the casino FAQ mentions the number of decks used, but it's at least 3 decks, because on one hand that I played, I received 3 Aces of hearts. My guess is that it's 6 decks and I used that for my calculations. Other rules are: dealer hits A-6, double on any first two cards, double after split is permitted, split Aces may be hit more than once and pairs may be resplit, at least to 3 hands. The dealer 'peeks' for a Blackjack, so only one bet is lost. The minimum bet is $2, maximum is $50. With these rules, the casino has a 0.4% edge, if (as I assume), Aces can be resplit. Only 'like' cards may be split (you cannot split J,K for example.)

Blackjack playing tips: You absolutely must try this game in 'play' mode before you commit any $$$, because the Java script does weird things. Often, the graphics of the cards won't show, but the hand is totaled for you and the value of the dealer's up card is shown in text, so you can still play accurately. Make sure you understand how the bet size is adjusted, because it will add to the previous bet any amount you may 'click'. All in all, though, this is a pretty good game and I saw nothing in my playing sessions that I haven't seen in a 'real' casino.

Video Poker
*Theoretical Return
Game Type Denominations Maximum coins Minimum coins
Jacks or Better $1, $5, $10 93.20% 93.20%
Deuces Wild $1, $5, $10 91.39% 91.39

*The theoretical return is the long-term payback a player who is using the correct playing strategy may expect.

Video Poker playing tips: There's no reason to play these.

Slot Machines: There are two here for you to avoid.

Roulette: This is a double-zero wheel which means that the casino has a 5.26% edge.

Summary and Rating of the Gameday Casino: It's really sad to see an operation go from giving the player a fair shot to turning their games into vacuum cleaners.
