The game is 50-cent Jacks or better with the royal progressive at $2238. This actually happened on Sunday, October 5, 1997. My friend Tina and I were playing video poker and she was dealt this hand. Her father had walked up and I was chatting with him when Tina asked how she should play it. She knows that K,K is the normal play, but with the progressive up a bit, wasn't sure. Neither was I, but I knew it was a close play. I said, "Go for it." She did and was dealt the 10 and Jack for a $2238 Royal! The actual analysis is: Man, am I glad I didn't know the numbers exactly!
The game is 9/6 Jacks or Better with a progressive Royal at 4000 coins. Hold Straight Flush: 250.0000 The Royal at 4000 coins isn't high enough to break up the SF. At 10,800
coins, it would be.
This is from a game I found at a casino in California which was a 9/6 Jacks, but the straight pays 25 for 5 and the Royal is at $1199. Talk about a great game! Even without a slot club, it's worth almost 101%. Hold A only: 2.3878
The extra pay on the straight makes the inside straight draw the better play.
