Pick a Game! Part 3

Joker Wild games aren't very popular; not because they aren't relatively easy to play, but more I think, because the 'hit' percentage' is so low. What I mean by that is a smaller percentage of hands result in a payoff in most Joker games than in Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild games. For example, in a 9/6 Jacks game, about 45% of all the hands receive a payoff; for Deuces Wild it runs about the same. In a Joker game, only 30-35% of all hands get something back. The average player may not know those statistics from a mathematical point of view, but they soon learn it from an intuitive point of view and shy away from the machines. But, Joker games can have a long term payback which rivals both Jacks and Deuces games; it's just that so much is concentrated in the higher end of the scale. That requires a much bigger player bankroll, but if it's your day, a few straight flushes and maybe a 5-of-a-kind can make for a very profitable session. You'll find these games in two versions: those which pay for a pair of Kings or better and those which pay for two-pair or better. What is important about each is the overall pay schedule. As always, I've shown the pay schedule for a 5-coin play.
