Team Play

If you have several friends who know how to play video poker correctly, you should consider starting a team. If you got, say, three others plus yourself and each of you put up $1000, you could have a real good run at 25-cents machines, as long as they are machines with decent payoffs. For example, let's say you all live near a casino which offers 9/6 Jacks games with a progressive royal and a slot club that pays .25% cash back. If each of you played at an average rate of 500 hands an hour (a rather conservative number), your team would be totaling 2000 hands an hour! That's about 5 four-of-a-kind per hour of play, a straight flush every 3.5 hours or so and a royal about once every 20 hours. Think about it -- if you all could put in 20 hours a week, one or the other of you would likely hit a royal each week.

Since you are compressing time so much with this method of play, you must make sure you're playing games with a 100% or more payback. A 9/6 Jacks with a royal at $1250 pays back 100%, so with a cash-back slot club, you'd be okay by playing machines at the $1200 and up level.

Of course the real trick here is that all the members of your team know the proper playing strategy and are willing to play according to the 'book' and not make hunch plays or other crazy stuff.

I've often thought of bankrolling a group of little old blue-haired ladies and turning 'em loose on some unsuspecting casinos. In fact, I know about this bank of 5 All American machines which pays 100.7%........
