Williams Money Fever

This is a version of 'Flush Attack' which can be found on Williams 'Multi-Pay' machines (the ones with the good Blackjack games.) When the player hits a flush, s/he is paid 30 for 5, but then the game goes into 'fever' mode and any card of the same suit as the flush will receive a 5-coin payment for the next 7 hands. You can already see the dilemma here; do I hold a pair of Jacks, or one card of the 'fever' suit? Well, if you've been following this column for a while, you know that the pay schedule is what determines the strategy. Here's the full-pay version of Money Fever:

Royal Flush 4000
Straight Flush 750
4 of-a-kind 100
Full House 45
Flush 30
Straight 25
3 of-a-kind 15
Two-pair 5

Ouch! It only pays for two-pair or better. Plus, I've seen machines where the Straight Flush pays only 500 coins. But, as reported in the May/June issue of Video Poker Times, the game will return 100.5% if proper playing strategy is used. In keeping with my policy of not reprinting copyrighted materials, you'll need to get that issue for the proper strategy. The Video Poker Times web site is at http//www.savenet702.com/video-poker.shtml This issue will cost you $10.
