The Big Blind
a film by David L. James
Director David James is in the middle of filming The Big Blind as of
this
writing. The Big Blind is a movie that is written, produced, and
directed
by James(pictured above). The movie is a strange and intriguing tale
about
a small circle of poker players in and around a casino.
The
"project" is
funded by collaborators who are working under special terms with the
Screen
Actors Guild. It is a Union film being made under an experimental
contract,
"deferring" some salaries. I have a small role in the film. I'm very
excited to work in a poker film. The money does mean something to me,
but
the experience to get involved in this project is all that counts.

David started playing poker when he was 5
years old his
mother,
from Wyoming and father from New York played cards. David was taught to
play cards so
well that at that age he was "barred" from playing in family games,
because he beat his relatives that often visited and played in family
games, and his parents didnt want to be embarassed, heh.
He went
into
the service and beat everyone in the game out of paychecks. When he
entered college(UC Santa Barbara) he played and won some tuition and
all
his books and stuff. David has been a director, an executive producer,
a
writer, and an industry collaborator. This film will have its own site,
at POKERwwwORLD with weekly reports from David and James Gang
Films.
