4th Place this year was a hair difference between Bobby Baldwin's 1978 Championship purse. Mr. Baldwin should not be offended by these words, and he wouldn't be, because you can compare it to Ruth, Gehrig, and others, to todays salaries.

There are twice as many entrants than in 1978. There were 393 entrants in the 1999 World Series of Poker final event that started on Monday, May 10, and finished on the 13th.
"13th?" I should say, the day of the Final Table. As many know, that's when six people convene(in this case knocking out the other 387 players) on Thursday to play for the BIG MONEY.
As I stated, I did deal the 1999 WSOP.
