Thanks so much for your help on the Millionaire Maker tournament at
Harrah's LV. I am going there in June for their Executive
Invitational Tournament. When I made those reservations, the person I
talked to was unsure about the Mil Maker. I guess I just asked the
wrong person. I'll call the toll free number and check on Tunica and
Tahoe, my other 2 favorite spots.
As you may have guessed, I am fairly new to the Internet. Believe it
or not, I only discovered "The Awesome 1" and your web site yesterday.
It is truly awesome! Last night I sat and read the trip reports and
tips with great interest. I will be a very frequent visitor, and hope
that I can contribute a trip report before long. Again, many many
thanks.
Thanks Charles,
I called Harrahs LV & they stated October 12-15
for their location.
You need to contact any other Harrahs location or 1-800-HARRAHS for

Dear Gamemaster,
I am very surprised you don't list Intercasino with your "Gotta Have It"
seal of approval.
I've dealt with them for over a year, on a constant and ongoing basis, and
the results have
been nothing short of excellent. I have found Intercasino to be extremely
profitable, with a
whopping $____ net profit in the last 2 months from a $500 initial
investment. (One check for
$____, another for $____, another for $____, and another for $____.) The
toll free tech support is
not the best, but sufficient. (I've gotten into arguments with thier
operators on several
occasions, but I've always gotten my way.) This is a company that can be
trusted and has
usually payed me in a couple days, and at most 8-9 days. The software has
the best graphics
around, and more importantly is the fastest of any online casino software.
They have recently
upgraded their blackjack game for version 2.21. Its now even faster, and
minor bugs have been
corrected.
Dear 'Stingray',
Thanks for the info on Intercasino; we'll update our records. I've removed
the $$$ amounts you mentioned in your e-mail, but you're obviously doing
quite well there. I've always liked their graphics and the way the games
play. Continued success.

Dear Sirs,
You have a cyber casino listed in your 'zine call C3i(Caribbean Cyber
Casino) in which you state in your posting that you do not know exactly
where they are. Here is their adress:
C3i International
Plaza Del Logo,Simpson Bay Yacht Club
St.Maarten,Netherlands Antilles
Tel# 011-5995-44852 or 800-446-3043
FAX # 011-5995-44510
These guys from first appearance are somewhat of a ripoff. Their 24hr
support line is rarely answered by a live person. You usually have to
leave a message and they may/may not call you back. It is unclear
whether they are licensed in the Antilles or not.
My experience with them has been mixed. My first drop was $500.00 to
play an assortment of slots, video poker, craps, stud poker, roulette and
blackjack. Due to smart play, I ran my credit balance to well over
$1000.00 and immediately cashed in my original $500.00. Since the
original drop was done by credit card, I am yet to see the credit on my
card account( its been less than a month). It concerns me that they will
issue winnings by issuing a "reverse charge" or "credit" against your
card since your winnings can be posted back to your card in as little as
4 days and as long as 4 weeks. If you wish to continue play with them,
you would have to wait that period of time to collect your winnings
before you can put a new charge on your card.
My real concern is this...... after cashing in and leaving a credit
balance of 473 credits, I then was able to quickly run the credit
balance up to close to 900 credits again. I then called the folks at C3i
to see if I could get my winnings sent to me some other way than
described above. I was informed that my winnings could be sent via
FedEx. After informing them to process the $500.00 cash-in as a credit
back to my card(this was 2 days after cashing in and they had still NOT
processed the credit) I noticed a distinct change in the payouts for the
games that I was playing. In blackjack, I was constantly dealt 12's and
13's and in 19 out of 20 cases my hit was a face card. Also if the
dealer had a face card showing in these cases and any other time the
computer had a face card showing, and I held, the dealer would without
fail have a face card in the hole. Dealt 20's became pushes or the
computer would draw to 21's and I'd lose. In stud poker I would be dealt
full houses ,flushes and 3 of a kinds only to have the computer deal
itself " nohands" and pay out even odds instead of the 15,10 and 8-1
respectively odds that those hands pay. Playing 2-1 odds 1-pair high
card hands were being beaten by higher pairs or in the case of
Aces, computer would have 3 of a kind and again, I'd lose.
My point is: on River Belle's web page they feature a so-called letter
in your 'zine where a user complained that the odds can be turned back
upon a player using a back-door code to the software, and RB was given a
chance to respond. I contend that this is a case in point to prove what
the original letter writer was saying is true. I know how to play the
odds on blackjack quite well and know when to fold in Stud Poker as
well. I find it quite odd that over a 1000 credits can be lost in a very
short time after contacting the company asking how I could quickly
collect my winnings. It wasn't from making large bets and stupid play. I
would go 15 hands and lose 12 , win 1 and push on the other 2. Mere "
bad luck" can't explain that one away.
Anyways, my experience with C3i has not been good, and I surely wont be
using their cyber casino again.
Kindest Regards,
Samuel F Walker

GameMaster,
What are the rules to the Jacks game. My grandson received a set for
Easter and no one can remember the rules.
Thanks, Hogue
Dear Hogue,
Gotta drag out some dusty volumes for this one! The simplest version is
"Onesies". Toss the ball in the air, pick up one jack with the hand that
threw the ball and catch the ball off the bounce (it may only bounce once).
Transfer the jack to the non-throwing hand and continue until all 12 jacks
are in the non-throwing hand. If a player misses, he/she puts all the jacks
back down in the pot and passes the ball to the right. The first player to
pick up all 12 jacks successfully is the winner. Not a big blast. A better
game is, appropo for Easter, called "Eggs in a Basket". The player holds
his non-throwing hand on the floor , palm up and fingers curled to form a
basket. Toss the ball, pick up a jack, put it in the basket and catch the
ball on the first bounce. Then, do it again, but pick up two jacks, then
three, then four, etc.
Have fun and let the kids win.

Hi Gamemaster, have you come acrross winning crap strategy by Mr.William J.
"Bill" Giroir How to win money on every roll and every number playing craps?
Its looks ligitimate and promising. What can you say about this cause I"m
considering to buy. tks.
PS. I'm also interested in buying winning BACCARAT STRATEGY OR SYSTEM, CAN YOU
RECOMMEND ONE?
LYDIOZ
Dear LYDIOZ,
While I haven't seen Mr. Giroir's 'system', I'm willing to bet (and I am NOT
a gambling man), that it may produce some winnings on every roll, but in the
long run, you'll lose. Look at it this way -- if this worked, Mr. Giroir
would be out there in the casinos with his entire family winning money,
instead of trying to get your hard-earned bucks. Listen to me: There is no
way to overcome the casino's edge in the long run at the craps table.
That's also true for baccarat. The only games which a skilled player can
beat are Blackjack and Video Poker.

Through a noted newspaper, I inform myself about the possibility to
bet, free or with real money, in virtual casinos who advertise in
Internet.
I access to one of them called "Golden Palace Online Casino", and decide to bet with real money (US$100), credited through
Mastercard.
After carrying out several bets, when culminating the same ones I
had left a positive balance of US $500. I requested the won money but
they only credited me US$100 in my Mastercard account. The US$400
remaining was claimed with the sent of several e-mails but I obtained
as answer, e-mails that mentioned in contradictory that the money was
credited the 8th of January, the 15th of January...
I requested them to send me the Swift Code of the operation so as to
know if the money was really credited in my bank account, but they
never sent it to me.
For all that was mentioned, I realized that the company had made me
a fraud, and they might do this systematically with other honest
people that don't have enough power of negotiation to claim what
corresponds to them. Companies like Golden Palace distort the normal
operation of Internet, they harm the image of other casinos that
operate honestly, leave doubts about electronic payment; in definitive
they don't deserve to be part of the net.

Hello.
I recently received a printed flyer in the mail advertising a
sportsbook called PARAMOUNT SPORTS 1-800-681-6992 that offers an amazing
30%
bonus on all new accounts. Interested to find out more, I called and spoke
to
the "manager" David Morgan and was told to wire money ONLY through Western
Union to Sparks, Nevada. When asked for liscensing verification and owner
information he was less than convincing and I smell a rat here. I suggest
that anyone out there who bets on sports, give this guy a call and see if
you
think it's legit or not. I've got a feeling that people are being scammed
out
of their money big-time by this guy. I would really appreciate any feedback
from whoever calls in. 4/3/98

Dear GameMaster,
As you know in Europe you can play 'behind' another player by placing a bet
at his card. (Up to three bets at any one card). This creates an
interesting situation when it comes to splitting. You can choose to follow
any of the two cards. Now I am sure that another stategy should exist to
indicate if it most profitable to split and double your money or split and
follow one hand only. (For exaple 8-8 vs 9 I guess you better follow one
hand that is 8 vs 9 than double your money on the table and play two 8 vs 9
hands).
Any suggestions for the correct play in such situations?
Dear Emmanouel,
The strategy for the 'optional' split is actually rather simple. I'm
assuming there is no double permitted after splitting pairs, so the proper
plays are:
Aces: Bet both against all dealers' cards
Nines: Bet both vs. 2-6 and 8 only
Eights: Bet both vs. 3-7 only
Sevens: Bet both against a 6 only
Sixes: Never bet both
Fives: Never bet both, if the player is dumb enough to split
Fours: Same as fives
Threes: Bet both only against 5 and 6
Twos: Same as threes
Hope this helps. Oh, yes...almost forgot; never bet on split 10s unless the
count is high enough to warrant the play.

Dear Sir,
I just discovered your web site and it is great. I recently moved to
Philadelphia and play Atlantic City as much as I can. The most pressing
reason for my writing is that I am soon tagging along with my wife on a
business trip to Lake Tahoe (Incline Village) and would appreciate it if would
sending me your suggestions for basic strategy variations useful for the games
that area. You probably know better than I but I believe the (lame) rules are
that the dealer hits A6, you can only double 10 or 11, and cannot double
inside splits. I do not know how many decks they typically use. Also if you
could forward any changes you would make to the variations on your web site
for an 8 deck game vs. a 6 deck game.
Any help you could provide would be great. I have been counting for about a
year with pretty good success. I doubt that I would gamble at all if I didn't
have an advantage and counting certainly provides it.
I really enjoyed what I have seen of your site so far, and am looking forward
to more.
Thank you
Hank
Dear Hank,
Thanks for the compliments. As for Tahoe, most games are single-deck with
the rules you mentioned. Go to our Blackjack page and click on the lesson:
"In Search of Basic Startegy" and it will show you how to get the strategy
for the game you'll see out there. As for changes between 6 and 8 decks,
there are none; they are the same.

GameMaster,
I am looking for the rules of dice games that can be played on the street.
especially games that are quick and easy. thank you and please respond asap.
Dear Elizabeth,
With warm weather coming, gonna drag the kids outta the house and make 'em
shoot craps in the street? Anyway, if craps won't work, try "36". Each
player puts an equal bet in the pot and then they take turns throwing a
single die as many times as they wish, while totaling the numbers thrown.
The object is to get as close as possible to a total of 36 without going
over. Those who go over lose; the closest wins and ties split the pot.
Or, you might want to try "Yankee Grab" which is played with three dice.
Each player puts an equal bet in the pot and the player throws all 3 dice.
The highest is set aside, the two remianing are then are tossed and the
higher is set aside; finally, the last is thrown and the score is totaled.
Highest score wins. In the event that two or three dice have matching
scores, only one is set aside.
Have fun.

Hi,
I just wanted to say thanks for the excellent card counting lessons on
your home page. With all the dubious system hucksters out there it was
nice to find the information available on the Web.
I've been using the High/low count at my local 6 deck game and after
about 40 hours of playing I'm up 140 units. I know it's not the long
run yet, and that winning rate won't be sustained but it's an
encouraging start.
Again, thanks for the info. Is the double deck game you referred to
still offered in St. Louis?
Cheers
Kevin in Gatineau, Quebec
Dear Kevin,
Thanks for the kind words; I'm glad the lessons have helped you. As for the
double-deck game here, yes, it's still -- amazingly -- available.

Dear Gamemaster,
Just about everywhere I look (LV newsgroup, trip postings, etc) it is
recommended that even if you only play nickel slots, the first thing you do
when you go to a casino is sign up for the slot card and begin accumulating
points. My question is: Even if you only spend $20-$30 in each casino you
visit, why should you get a slot card?
>I must admit I'm ignorant about slot cards, so if you don't mind, please go
over it one more time for us ignoramuses (ignorami?) out here. Thanks for
the advice.
Jerry
Dear Jerry,
Even though you may buy only $20-30 in slot tokens, you will bet that money
over and over again, so your total 'action' may be several hundred dollars
by the time the money runs out. Slot club cards track that and you might
get a few dollars back in the form of cash, or lunch or some other amenity.
The slot clubs cost you nothing, require no record keeping on your part and
are easy to use. Anything you get back is a bonus, no matter how small it
may be. Just the savings you can get at many casinos on the cost of a room
may allow you to double your bankroll. And that may be enough $$$ to let
you hit 'The Big One'.

How reliable are they or are they worth buying. They are very expensive. To
mention a few , The E.Clifton Davis BBBaccarat system( www.ecliftondavis.com)
and Complete Casino Baccarat Bussiness Plan and Baccarat Pattern
Recognition (www.succeednow.com) Your comment will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Pls don't mention my name.
These systems are worthless, or nearly so. No method of betting can
overcome a built-in house edge. Look at it this way: Let's say you and I
flip a coin and you pay me $5 every time it comes up heads and I'll pay you
$4 every time it comes up tails. You might win for a while, but in the long
run, I'll get all your $$$. That's how the casinos make their money at
craps, baccarat, etc. They don't pay at true odds. As for baccarat
specifically, it has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no
effective card-counting method which allows a player to realize a profit.
As for 'pattern recognition', remember that we are a species that looks up
to the heavens, see seven stars which are totally unrelated to one another
and declare, "Look, a dipper!" We are very good at finding 'patterns' where
none exist.
Remember the 'GameMaster's Maxim' -- if these systems really worked, the
guys who invented them would be in the casino making money instead of trying
to get your hard-earned dollars.

fyi-for your readers...though gold club casino has received good reviews
for their graphics, etc., take it from me, if you want to withdraw money, be
prepared to wait. we withdrew an amount on feb 8 and we still have not
received it. (today's date is feb 28). to their credit, they did answer my
email and apoligized for the slow response, promising us we would receive
our withdrawal. (though that in itself took several days).the disconcerting
thing is, they only allow withdrawals by bank draft which they tauted as
much faster than credit card crediting, but, with intercasino, we received
our credit card credit within 3 days.

I just want to report that I have found Acropolis Casino to be the most
fair of the on-line gambling casinos (you actually win!!). I have tried
many of the other on-line casinos and have felt ripped-off and/or
confused by their software.
Acropolis' software is easy to use and has good graphics. If the link
is cut off, the game resumes right where you left it. I have never had
any accounting problems and have had prompt and polite service for any
questions or accounting inquiries I have had.
I just wanted to report this and give them a good recommendation because
I have had my doubts about the fairness of all of the on-line casinos,
but I can vouch from experience that Acropolis is fair. (I hit the
first royal flush I've EVER hit - including in "real" casinos - on
Acropolis and the money was properly credited to me.)
Please pass on to your subscribers that Acropolis is one on-line casino
they can trust!!

I really enjoyed ready through your web site. It clearly is the best web site
dedicated to BJ. Here's my question:
If I'm playing a table where the min. is $5 and I want to bet when the true
count is :
even $10, +1 $20, +2/+3 $30, +4 $40, +5/+6 max $50
however, when the true count is negative I bet $5, would this be a sure sign to
the pitboss that I am a counter? Also, if I am playing with AC rules and I am
the only one at the table or I am the last player to the dealer, should I
modify my decisions based on the true count or not?
Thanks!
Dear Gregory,
First, thanks for the kind words and forgive me for taking so long to reply.
Bet variation IS the primary way casino personnel identify counters, but
it's all in how you do it. If you 'parlay' your wins and try not to be
overly sure in your playing decisions and start a new shoe with a $15 or $20
bet now and then, you should be okay. Spread out to two hands when you can
-- remember that a bet of $10 on two hands is very much like a $20 bet on
one hand.
You should always use the basic strategy variations which you know, whenever
the count calls for them. They actually have the effect of making you look
'erratic'. "Sometimes he hits 16, sometimes he stands...."
I would NOT, however, split 10s when the count is high; I think it's a dead
giveaway.
